"Exploring the Architectural Marvels of Chandigarh: A Journey through Pierre Jeanneret's Legacy"

M N Sharma Architectural Society, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Department of History at Panjab University organised a special event commemorating the 123rd birth anniversary of Pierre Jeanneret, a key figure in the inception of Chandigarh.

• The event started with warm welcome by Prof. Jasbir Singh, Chairperson of the History Department.

• Prof. Yojna Rawat, General Secretary of the Society, outlined the objectives and achievements pf the society since its establishment in 2015 by Chandigarh's First Indian Chief Architect, Ar. MN Sharma.

• The following session was hosted by Ar. Deepika Gandhi, former Associate Professor at Chandigarh College of Architecture. The session was focused on Jeanneret's architectural vision within the framework of the City Beautiful, with particular emphasis on structures within Panjab University. Ms. Gandhi delved into the design rationale behind these buildings, highlighting the significance of materials and colour choices.

• The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Rajnish Wattas, former Principal of Chandigarh College of Architecture.
