About the Society
M.N.Sharma Architectural Society, Chandigarh was formed on 4th June 2015 in Chandigarh under the Society’s Act (xxx of 1860) and as amended by Punjab Amendment Act, 1957. The First president and the founder member of the Society, Architect M.N. Sharma had worked with Le Corbusier’s team for twelve years and became the first Indian Chief Architect of Chandigarh in 1965. During his tenure from 1965-1969, he worked on major projects in the city and designed many public buildings in the city. Ar. M. N. Sharma, who was the recipient of many national and international awards played a significant role in enlisting Chandigarh in the modern heritage list of UNESCO.
What We Do

Promote the unique architectural design and city planning aspects of Chandigarh.

Promote architecture in general with special emphasis on modernism.

Set up, promote, and liaison between Indian and foreign architectural design and city planning organizations.

To develop the body of research on Chandigarh and modern architecture, architecture in general, design, and city planning.

To receive and collect any gifts, subscriptions, donations, grants, devices, bequests, and trusts from any person or institution in cash or kind.
