M N Sharma Photography Award 2026
Welcome to the MN Sharma Photography Award 2026. The theme for the Photography contest is ‘Chandigarh in Light & Shade'. Light and shadow are the silent story tellers of a city. They transform familiar spaces, reveal unexpected forms, create moods and give architecture, nature and everyday life a new visual language. Through your lens, explore how changing light shapes Chandigarh—its iconic architecture, geometric forms, open spaces, trees, streets and people and capture the contrast between illumination and darkness, the interplay of form and silhouette and the moments when light creates shadows that are as striking as the subjects themselves. Capture Chandigarh not as it stands, but as it changes with light.
We invite you to explore how sunlight and shadow shape the exterior and interior aesthetics of Chandigarh's architecture and see the city through the lens of light and shadow.
• Open to the youth of Tricity, aged between 18-30 years.
• For this year’s Photography contest the theme is 'Chandigarh in Light & Shade'. Each participant may send a maximum of three photographs in JPG format in 18x24 inches size (colored/black and white) of high resolution in the Google form itself available on the website of MN Sharma Architectural Society (mnsharmaarchs.org)
• Entries will be judged by an eminent jury whose decision will be final. The best entry will receive MN Sharma Photography Award 2026 with a citation and an Award of Rs. 25000/- .
• Selected photographs will be showcased in an exhibition to be held on 30th October 2026. Copyright of selected entries will remain with MN Sharma Architectural Society & Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi.
• Earlier winners can participate but they will not be entitled to the award.
• The participants must send their original works with an undertaking in the prescribed Google form latest by 23rd October 2026. A self-attested photocopy of Aadhar card for non-students and College ID card for students to establish the proof of address and age along with the prescribed Performa should be submitted with the entries.
